It's been a while since I've talked about TV and since it's sweeps, I figure now would be a good enough time to basically catch up on most of the television. I watch too much of it to talk about everything though.
The Good Wife has kind of been the silent surprise of the season for me. I find the storylines compelling and I really love Kalinda and have a mad crush onDan Rydell Will. And I like the fact that while Cary [a.k.a. Matt Czuchry's character] started off as kind of a jerk, they are really developing his character. And the interaction between him and Kalinda in the last episode was ADORABLE [as was seeing him in casual clothes].
And in the last episode they had their third Gilmore Girl alum [at least that I recognized], Francie Jarvis. Although it took me a while to figure out who she was because she was blonde and that really threw me off.
I AM SO HAPPY FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS IS BACK. I was definitely worried about it because they lost half their cast since it was time for them to leave high school and any time shows add new characters they generally suck [e.g. Heroes], but this season has been great. It basically has given the writers the chance to really start over and I seriously love what they have done in the two episodes that have aired so far. I love that Tim is going to be working with Coach. I love that they aren't making that one black kid who ran from the cops just another Smash. And that other new kid... Luke? The one that had the fake address in the last episode... I love that they didn't make him a cocky kid, that he was total humble and all he wants to do is be able to play football and get a scholarship.
Oh and I was CRACKING UP in the last episode when that random man went up to Coach and was telling him that he needs to find his inner pirate. Seriously, go and watch that scene again if you can and just watch Coach's face. CLASSIC.
*sigh* That show makes me very, very happy.
While it always makes me sad when Psych goes on hiatus, I have NO PROBLEM with White Collar being the fill-in. It is exactly what I expect in a USA show, good story lines held up by extremely strong characters. It's not super funny like Psych, but it does make me laugh. I think the tone is more along the lines of Burn Notice. But I am willing to admit I am head over heels in love with Neal Caffrey. It does help that Matthew Bomer basically looks like a Disney prince come to life. And I don't think you can watch this show without becoming absolutely mesmerized by his vivid blue eyes. And it has TiffaniAmber Thiessen and I love to support my Saved By The Bell alums. :)
ANGELA/WENDELL?? WHAT?!? I mean, I will admit that I think Wendell is absolutely adorable and I was loving that entire episode especially all the Wendell & Hodgins scenes [THEY WERE BASICALLY WEARING THE SAME SHIRT AND TALKING CONSPIRACY THEORIES!], but WHAT?! I think my outrage only comes about because I am such a hardcore Angela/Hodgins 'shipper. I mean, the only Bones icon I have is of them. I mean, I definitely love where Angela & Hodgins are at as friends. The scene where Hodgins tells her he won't break her fast was great and I definitely rewatched that over again. And I like how Wendell lightly touches Angela's arm at the end of the episode... So I don't know, I'm feeling quite conflicted... but I'm willing to wait and see what happens.
In shows that are completely disappointing me, I think I'm done with Gossip Girl and Project Runway [at least this season]. I think I've only watched one full episode of Gossip Girl this season and I don't even care who wins Project Runway this season, they all are crappy designers. The Office has been disappointing me lately, but I still watch it because it's in that NBC comedy block and it's habit to watch. Although I will admit that I skipped 2 episodes this season and I'm pretty sure that was a good decision on my part. Hopefully it'll improve soon....
